If you are reading this, then we already have something in common. We most likely are extremely interested in pets, specifically dogs. If you have a dog or know somebody that has dogs, then you know the feeling you have when they are around you. We treat our pets like a part of the family because that is what they are. Our last dog was almost 17 years old when he passed from a failing heart and that feeling of losing a loved one is one of great pain emotionally. Let’s face it, children grow up and depend on us less and less, whereas a dog grows older and continually depends on us. And this creates a special bond between parent and dog.
With technology increasing daily it seems that our careers are demanding more from us and we are all looking for that little help to ease some of the daily stresses of our lives. We have learned so much about our pet’s needs and how they deserve it too in the past decade or more and many of us realize the daily tasks keeping growing. So, because of this growth doggie daycares arrived. And we saw the need for our pets to socialize, just as we do. Pass by any doggie daycare and see the dogs enjoying their time out with their friends. Better yet, pass by one when a car is dropping a dog off or picking it up and watch the dogs behind the fence. They are looking to see who is coming or who is leaving.
This is where I came up with the idea of Düber Dogs. I realized it was like school and what was lacking was the bus and driver taxiing the pups around town. After making the decision to start the company, I then needed to come up with a plan to choose the right vehicle. So, the search was on, for longer than I anticipated, and then I finally found the perfect vehicle. Only problem was that it was in Canby, Oregon (south of Portland). So, I enlisted two close friends of mine and presented to them an adventurous road trip. Actually. a one way flight trip with a 2400 road trip to return home. We packed tools and inflatable mattresses because, well it is a bus. Upon arriving at the dealer, we removed some seats so we could lay the air mattresses out to sleep and began our journey back to Houston, TX. Without any serious hiccups, we made it back home in 55 hours. Pretty much driving and stopping for fuel and snacks. And I learned a valuable lesson on the way home. Truck stops do have great facilities. And when one needs a shower the clean ones are a welcomed site.
Once back home the work began, by removing all seats and installing the right kennels for the job required, maintenance on the bus, signage installed around the bus, and assisted cameras for all those tight spots in traffic.
Officially we gave our first rides in August 2020 and are currently building up our customer base. What we specialize in is chauffeuring dogs to/from daycares, vet clinics, boarding, groomers, and spas for your pups. Our catchphrase is Pet Rides Made Easy. That’s what it is. One less task to your list of things to do daily. Your dog is a family member, and we treat them like one of our family too. Safety and comfort are most important to us all. Air ride suspension and safe kennels help us with that.
Contact us for a meet n greet and let us handle the driving. Remember, Pet Rides Made Easy. That is what we do
